Turkish dances

Turecké tance

The Turkish dances are highly specific. They are very dynamic, but on the other hand can be also slow and melancholic. The dancer thus possesses the ability of choosing whatever suits him the best at the present situation. Turkey, or the Ottoman Empire, ruled the western and eastern Europe, especially the Hungarian kingdom, for many years. The Turkish culture, therefore, combines the beauty and wisdom of the East with those of Europe.

Turkish dances

Ajna dances on the traditional Turkish melodies mixed with the contemporary musical production. The Turkish dance is also characterized by dancing on the ground, when the dancer can easily express her emotions or energy without even lifting her legs; this style, however, requires an advanced ability of using the arms and upper parts of the body while dancing.

Another Turkish speciality is the dance of the Turkish Gipsies – Karsilama, which is danced in an unusual measure for the Europeans – 9/8. Turkish dancers very often play certain musical instrument as they are dancing. These instruments contain tambourine, or little finger cymbals. Ajna will dance these beautiful dances for you, and after her magnificent harmonizing performance you can choose to visit a true Turkish tearoom where you may enjoy smoking a pipe (hookah).
