The Gothic period dates approximately from 12th to 14th century. It was the time when Europe started to following completely different style of life and development; old ways were forgotten, new paths arose. As for the Gothic dancing itself, almost nothing was preserved to these days except for few paintings, wearing apparel and, fortunately, music. However, the music in the old records allows far too much of a free interpretation. That is why we principally have to observe the way people lived at that time. They surely must have had their own sorts of amusement; they must have laughed and danced.
