This seminar focuses on gipsy dance. Ajna has been interested in the gipsy dance and culture for many years and she also attended lots of lessons in various different schools. Therefore, she is able to provide a professionally led tuition, which will introduce the problematic of these dances. You will come across the European styles (Spain, Bohemia, Hungary, Slovakia), East European styles (Balkan, Russia), then Turkish style (Karsilama) and Rajasthan style of the local Sapera Karbelva tribe.
The seminar
We offer a three-hour long seminar where you will get the basic cross section of the dance and the culture. You will experience different dancing techniques and rhythms, as well as the lecture on make-up and costumes. It is also possible to focus on one particular region of the gipsy dance culture – Europe, Balkan, Russia, Turkey, and India.
The seminar with choreography
We offer a three-hour long seminar, choreography, which you will be able to use later by yourself or with your group, included. Seminars are available with music from Balkan, Hungary, Turkey, India, or you can choose a tuition of a dance with properties (tambourine, candles, full ball skirt. The seminar can be of course modified – longer or shorter variants are available as well as a wider range of dancing styles. Groups are formed according to the abilities of the customers – beginners (never danced gipsy dances), pre-advanced (some experience), advanced (I have pursued these dances actively and for some considerable amount of time).
